Treasure Hunter: Corrupted Chests for RS Gold Hunters
Last October 1st until the 5th, a new event for the Treasure Hunter on Runescape took place. The nights are drawing in, Halloween’s on the horizon, and things are getting darker and darker. Did you miss the Corrupted Chests? Whether you did or didn’t, find out more about this event in the article below, RS gold hunters!
The Corrupted Chests for RS Gold Hunters
From 00:00 UTC on 1st October until 23:59 UTC on 5th October, an ominous-looking charge bar at the top of the Treasure Hunter interface appeared, which you fill up by using Keys, by skilling or killing in game, or a combination of such. The bar has four stages. Once you charge it up to these levels, unique prizes worth generous amounts of RSgold became available to win through Treasure Hunter chests. These items are worth gunning for, since they’re limited and event-exclusive, hence could sell for a certain amount of RS gold.
Stage 1 | Dark Lamps & Stars
Dark lamps & stars work like normal lamps and stars, but give +10% XP per stage unlocked, meaning it rewards you with at least +40% with the bar maxed! Gold4rs hunters may find this handy when farming and level-grinding as it boosts XP received considerably.
Stage 2 | Scrimshaw of Aggression
When activated, this pocket-slot item causes nearby enemies to attack the player, kind of like a ‘taunt’. The effect lasts for 1 hour before the Scrimshaw disintegrates to dust. This does not affect enemies already in combat, unable to attack the player, and immune to tagging or immune to special effects such as bosses. This is ideal for tanky Runescape gold hunters.
Stage 3 | Scrimshaw of Sacrifice
When activated, this pocket-slot item prevents tradeable item drops in return for +50% combat XP and +50% Slayer XP. The effect lasts for 1 hour before the Scrimshaw disintegrates to dust. This is for situations wherein you just really, really need that XP boost.
Stage 4 | Scrimshaw & Helm of Corruption
Once you get to Stage 4, you can win or create the Scrimshaw of Corruption, which combines the functions of the two Scrimshaws mentioned above. Any that you win can be broken down into one of each if you want to use the effects separately. You can also win the Helm of Corruption, a cosmetic headpiece that tracks your kill streaks, which surely, won’t sell for cheap Runescape gold at all. Enemies killed within 15 seconds of one another increase the count, and the helm looks increasingly sinister whenever you hit a 5, 15 and 50 streak. You can even right-click the helm to find out your personal best.
